Thats an interesting way of looking at it but I’m not sure I agree with the ultimate intent. I don’t think it’s a “african american” feature on a white woman, I think it’s the feature itself which is generally not revered or even admired on a specific race of a person.

For instance, JLo’s bum didn’t suddenly make the black community like large bums. It was on her person that made the idea attractive and I think it made people understand and even relate to some of the african american communities appreciation for that feature.

I’d say the same for Angelina’s lips.

BTW, to the poster above, Angelina isn’t white trash. She has done more good for impovered nations than many governments.

You know, I’m white and I actually thought about this the other day with Angelina… why so many people go ga-ga over her lips when there are TONS of black actresses with even prettier full lips… and did original settle on your arguement. However, I just had a new thought about the subject: I don’t think that it is that big lips on black women are ugly, it is just that they are “expected”…. where as big lips on a white girl (ie Angelina) is surprising. Same goes with a butt that is shaped more like a black woman’s figure. I hate to say it, but the same goes for noses. A slender, straight nose on a blonde, blue eyed girl isn’t that surprising, but on say Halle Berry (achieved with plastic surgery) it is striking…same for light green eyes… on a white girl, not a big deal…. coupled with darker skin and hair…striking. I think I am rambling, and I hope it wasn’t offensive. It just occured to me that perhaps it isn’t the feature itself or even the person herself… but the stereotype that we have that the feature and the person shouldn’t naturally go together make it seem rare and thus beautiful.

The questions and comments never cease to amaze me. I don’t know where you have been for the last couple of hundred years, but the majority of black women have never had an issue with our beauty. Most of my ancestors have always appreciated the unique beauty of our women. It never bothered some of us what some people in mainstream society thought. Why should we have to prove to fools that full lips and rounded behinds are sexy? That is not my job. We are so much more than body parts, and I refuse to let anyone define me in such a manner. I’ve had many people stop me on the street and give me compliments from my almond shaped eyes to the clef in my chin. So what White or Spanish woman do you believe made almond shaped eyes beautiful in order for me to get my compliments? Oh, and by the way, the people who usually stop and compliment me are white women and men.
Who cares what mainstream society think. Some people think that grown women who look like skeletons are sexy. I think not!

To be honest.I think you’re obsessing on this way too much. On the surface you’re talking about butts, lips etc. But I think this issue goes way deeper for you and others too.The past can’t be brought back, thank goodness. But you can make a real difference in the Present and Future in all areas of your Life..
All races including whites have a grievance about why their not appreciated by others. Be it looks or behaviour.I for one appreciate people as individuals, for who they are not what they are. To me skin colour is just a different shade of all weather covering.
Appreciate what you have now..how you can change your children’s future. As for the non Blacks getting Lip injections, padded butts he! he! he! larger breasts. More Fooll Them!
Be True To Yourself.Then this sort of thing will be put into purspective. You’ll be appreciated, admired for You..Look at Maya Angelu..Oprah.

Yes, there are very attractive black women with those features, but non blacks and the media hate to admit it. It’s called hating and also due to how we are looked down on. There are ugly people in every race, so to target just black women is just silly.

Angelina is nothing but white trash……………she was born with those lips and they make her look stupid………….so jaylo has a big ass, she was born with it……………..and for the record i have never made fun of a black woman’s lips or ass. and i do not feel black women are ugly………………..some people are just rude.

I think the answer to this question is too offensive to say. And I’m sure you know what it is already.

On a side note: Black women are hott when they don’t act like men.
